Dish Network

I did it. Something I swore I would never do, but I have to say I am totally proud of myself. I just called and chewed out a customer service representive at Dish Network. You have to understand that I have had it up to here (pointing to 6 ft 10 in) with their crap. They have been trying to charge my bank account $301.46 four times an hour, every hour of every day for the past 2 weeks. The reason being that I haven't returned their equipment, since I ceased transmission less than a month ago. The reason for not returning the equipment, is because I haven't received the boxes they told me they would send me.

I first heard about these charges last week, and called Dish to gain some understanding. I talked to a young lady, and explained to her that I had not received the boxes to ship the equipment back. She was understand and said she would resend the boxes and clear up the bank charges. I was pleased with our conversation and figured everything was taken care of.

This morning I get into work and receive a call from my bank saying that Dish is still trying to force these charges through. I was furious. I picked up the phone and called an unexpecting man at Dish. I explained to him what I had discussed with the young woman last week and that they needed to stop charging me. He told me that the woman wasn't authorized to tell me what she did and they would keep charging me. Then I got really pissed. I thought this thing was cleared up. I thought I would be getting the boxes this week and have the equipment sent back ASAP. Well, I lost it. I started to speak and the man cut me off, I said, "No, you listen to me. Don't talk until I am done with my side of the story". And then I proceeded to use every explitive I could think of. After which, he was silent...for about a minute. I then said, "...and it you can't clear this up, then connect me with someone who can." He then responded, "Hold on".

As I waited for about a minute, I regained my composure and decided to be nicer to the next representative. But the next guy was an even bigger jerk. So I went off on him too. I told him to tell me where to send the equipment, I would box it myself and get it to them tonight. Then I said, "And once this has been received I don't want to hear a peep from Dish Network again." He said ok, and I hung up.

I thought after I hung up that the two guys I talked to probably looked at each other and said in unison, "I feel bad for the poor guy who married her." So I called Randy and explained my maniacal behavior. He just laughed, commended me on my bad behavior and said that if it would make me feel better, he would call and chew them out too. Man, I am glad I have an understand husband.

P.S. Dish Network blows!

It's too bad that Dish let things get so far out of control. Nobody comes out of this ahead: not you, not Dish, and certainly not the poor guys on the other end of the phone.

I've linked here from my blog, The Customer Service Survey. Maybe that'll help get you more attention from Dish to fix this problem.
